To protect downstream from particles prior to pumps:

1. Y-Strainer

I. It could be installed horizontally or vertically

II. It stands higher operation pressure

Y-Strainer

1. Basket Strainer

I. It could be installed horizontally

II. It is easier for cleaning

This is usually given in micron (100 or 50 micron)

Length:

I. Short enough to be inserted between flanges

II. Long enough not to collide with impeller
